I am SO exited to finally share this with you.
For the first time in 3 years since switching to Adventure Fabric, I’m able to offer personalized bandanas again.
Back when I used cotton fabric, I offered personalization using my Cricut and heat transfer vinyl (HTV). While that worked well on cotton, HTV isn’t compatible with Adventure Fabric and doesn’t hold up the way I want it to.
Now, I’m able to bring personalization back using direct-to-film transfers (DTF), which I’ve been using for my center graphic bandanas for a while.
If you’ve been around for a bit, you’ve already seen this method on some of your favorites like the best-selling Fluffin' Cute bandana, as well as various Christmas and Halloween designs.
What is Direct-to-Film (DTF)?
Direct-to-film (DTF) is a printing method that allows me to permanently apply names, phrases, and graphics to Adventure Fabric.
The designs are professionally printed by a specialty print shop using water-based inks before being transferred to the bandana with a commercial heat press.
Unlike sublimation, the design sits on top of the fabric instead of becoming part of the fibers. That means you’ll notice a slight difference in texture where the graphic is applied, but the transfer itself is very thin and doesn’t feel bulky.
If you’ve ever purchased one of my center graphic bandanas, you’ve already experienced DTF. It’s the same method I’ve used for favorites like the best-selling Fluffin' Cute bandana and several of my Christmas and Halloween designs.
DTF is designed to hold up to everyday wear and repeated washing without fading. It may feel slightly stiff at first, but after a couple of washes it softens up nicely while still maintaining a vibrant, long-lasting design.
How It Works
Personalization will be available from launch day until August 1st at 5 PM EST.
During this window, you’ll be able to order customized bandanas from the new collection. After that, I’ll batch order all of the graphics from a specialty print shop and then apply them to your bandanas myself.
Because of the high cost of ordering small quantities, personalization is only available during this limited window.
Customizing Your Bandana
You’ll be able to choose from a selection of fonts, colors, icons, and phrases to create something specifically for your pup.
To make things easier, I’ve created a mockup generator so you can visualize exactly how your design will look before placing your order.
Mockup generator available here
Processing Time
Processing time will be longer because the graphics come from an outside source.
Personalized bandanas will begin shipping approximately August 6th.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Adventure Fabric be personalized?
Yes! Every personalized bandana is made from my Adventure Fabric and customized using a direct-to-film (DTF) transfer that’s designed to hold up to everyday wear and repeated washing.
Are personalized dog bandanas machine washable?
Yes! Just like all of my bandanas, personalized bandanas are machine washable. I recommend washing in cold water and tumble drying on low heat to help your bandana and personalization look their best for years to come.
Will the personalization peel off?
No. DTF transfers are designed to be long-lasting and won’t peel like traditional heat transfer vinyl. While the design may develop very minor cracking over time if repeatedly washed in very hot water, it’s made to withstand everyday wear and regular washing.
Can I see what my personalized bandana will look like before I order?
Absolutely! I’ve created a mockup generator so you can preview your design before placing your order and feel confident you’re going to love the finished product.
Which bandanas can I personalize?
All of the styles in the new everyday collection are able to be personalized! I recommend simple, repeating prints such as plaid, polka dots, stripes, and my personal favorite, faux denim.
I hope you’re just as excited about this as I am. I truly can’t wait to see what you create.
